The Launch took place at Xichang SLC, South West China's inland spaceport
Today April 15, 2022, at 12:00 UTC [20:00 Beijing time] China's CASC successfully launched the ChinaSat 6D "Zhongxing-6D" satellite using the Long March 3B Y89 carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province. The satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success.
ZX 6D (Zhongxing 6D) is a Chinese communications satellite based upon a CAST's DFH-4 bus, a New Generation large telecommunications satellite platform. The Chinasat 6D satellite mainly provides reliable, stable and secure radio and television transmission and communication services for users within my country's territory and territorial waters and users in the Asia-Pacific region.
This mission is the 415th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles, and the 10th launch of this year 2022 from China. The Long March 3B/E, (ChangZheng 3B) also known as 3B/G2, is an enhanced variant of the Long March 3B, featuring an enlarged first stage and boosters, increasing its GTO payload capacity to 5,500 kg (12,100 lb)
