The Launch of LM-4C Performed flawlessly at the Jiuquan SLC
Today, April 06, 2022; at 23:47 UTC [7:47 on April 7, 2022, Beijing time] China successfully launched the third unit of Gaofen-3 satellite using the Long March 4C Y38 carrier rocket, The Launch took place at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province, China. Followed by the nominal liftoff, the satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. The Gaofen-3 satellite weighs > 2,900 kg is based on the CS-L3000B bus; This is the third satellite in the gaofen 3 series, the first was launched in 2016 and the second was last year, the series of satellites in Gaofen-3 is mainly used to obtain reliable and stable high-resolution, using the multi polarized C-Band SAR imaging technology, and to provide operational application data support for my country's marine development, terrestrial environmental resource monitoring, and emergency disaster prevention and mitigation.
This mission is the 414th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles, and the 9th launch of this year 2022. The LM-4C (Chang Zheng 4C or CZ-4C) is a 'hypergolic' based launch vehicle, was developed and manufactured by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. Based on its three stage design and second stage restart precision orbital capability, it can be expected to continue to launch these heavier, more demanding satellites. It appears to be the basic CZ-4B booster with the improved optional operational restart second stage engine modification as well as an existing third stage already proven constantly.
